Official Mission Rules
1: HOW TO PARTICIPATE
1.1 Eligibility: The Student Mission(s) (the “Mission(s)”) operated by Environmental 360 Solutions Ltd. (“Environmental 360 Solutions”) is open to any student enrolled in a public or private, elementary or secondary school in the Province of Ontario, Canada that is registered and eligible to participate in the Ontario Schools Battery Recycling Challenge, with the exception of directors, officers, employees, representatives and agents, of Environmental 360 Solutions, suppliers of prizes, material and services related to this Mission, and members of the immediate family (brothers, sisters, children, father, mother), legal or common-law spouse and cohabitants of any of the foregoing.
1.2 Registration Period: An eligible student (legal guardian) may register and complete each/any of the five (5) Primary Missions posted to the Student Mission page beginning October 21st, 2024 at 8:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST). An eligible student may only submit each Mission once during the Mission Period and must sign in each time they want to submit a new Mission before the end of the Mission Period (April 22nd, 2025 at 12:00 p.m.).
1.3 Mission Period: The Missions begin October 21st, 2024 at 8:00 a.m. EST and end on April 22nd, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. EST (the “Mission Period”)
1.4 Mission Entry: To participate, an eligible elementary or secondary school student will be required to have a parent or legal guardian (“legal guardian”) register and complete the online form requirements for each Mission. The legal guardian must provide their contact name, telephone number and email address. They must also provide the name of the child or children they wish to enter and select the child’s/children’s school(s) from the drop down menu provided on the registration form. A student (their legal guardian) can only submit each Mission once. In the case of a student (their legal guardian) submitting the same Mission more than one time, only the first submission will be valid.
1.5 Completion of Mission Entry Requirements: There are a total of eight (8) Missions that students may complete. There are five (5) Primary Missions that are posted on the Student Mission page. Each Mission has its own entry requirements listed on each Mission page. A student (legal guardian) will need to register to complete the first primary Mission they attempt. For subsequent Missions, a student (legal guardian) will need to sign in to complete Missions.
There are three (3) bonus Missions. Bonus Missions will only become available to those students that complete all five (5) primary Missions. Bonus Missions will be sent to students by email.
A student (legal guardian) that completes a single Mission and meets the Mission requirements will receive a certificate.
1.6 Entry Requirements - Primary Missions: There are a total of five (5) Primary Missions available to all OSBRC students.
Mission 1: Make a Battery Recycling Container and Poster
- Make a battery recycling container and poster
- Take a picture that includes your battery recycling container and poster in the same frame
- Sign in or register to participate
- Complete all required information requested on the submission form
- Attach the picture of the battery-recycling container and poster to the submission form in the space provided.
- Submit the form
Mission 2: Battery Recycling Quiz
- Sign in or register to participate
- Complete all required information requested on the submission form
- Compete the online battery recycling quiz and click submit
- Students will have to achieve a 75% score to pass
- Students can try again as many times as necessary to achieve a passing score
Mission 3: Battery Hunt - Recycle 50 Batteries
- Collect 50 single-use alkaline batteries for recycling
- Take a picture of the 50 batteries you collected
- Sign in or register to participate
- Complete all required information requested on the submission form
- Attach the picture of the batteries you recycled to the registration form in the space provided.
- Submit the form
- Recycle the batteries at school
Mission 4: Battery Hunt - Recycle 100 Batteries
- Collect 100 single-use alkaline batteries for recycling
- Take a picture of the 100 batteries you collected
- Sign in or register to participate
- Complete all required information requested on the submission form
- Attach the picture of the batteries you recycled to the registration form in the space provided.
- Submit the form
- Recycle the batteries at school
Mission 5: Conduct a Survey
- Download a copy of the Battery Recycling Survey
- Ask friends and family to participate in your survey
- Once survey is complete, sign in or register to participate
- Transfer the results from your survey to the online form provided
- Complete all required information requested on the submission form
- Submit the form
1.7 Entry Requirements - Bonus Missions: There are a total of three (3) Bonus Missions available to those students that first complete all five (5) Primary Missions.
Each Bonus Mission is tied to an upcoming prize draw. There are three (3) prize draws during the challenge and three (3) Bonus Missions. Each Bonus Mission that a student completes, earns them an extra entry in the next prize draw.
Bonus Missions are available only by invite. A Bonus Mission invitation will be sent to the email address provided on registration. Each Bonus Mission is time-limited and will only be available for a specific duration of time during the challenge. The first Bonus Mission a student receives will depend on the date and time the student completes their fifth (5th) Primary Mission.
Example
A student that completes their fifth (5th) Primary Mission on November 1st, 2024, will receive an invitation by email to complete Bonus Mission 1 by 11:59 a.m. December 6th, 2024 to earn an additional (1) entry in the December 6th, 2024 draw. That student will automatically receive an email invite to complete Bonus Mission 2 and 3 when those Missions become available.
A student that completes their fifth (5th) Primary Mission on December 7th, 2024 (after the first prize draw) will receive an invitation to complete Bonus Mission 2 by 11:59 a.m. February 18th, 2025 to earn an additional (1) entry in the Great Wolf Lodge prize draw on February 18th, 2025. That student will also receive an email invitation to complete Bonus Mission 3 when that Mission becomes available.
Bonus Mission 1: Create a Battery Recycling Safety Tips Video
Bonus Mission 1 - active 8:00 a.m. October 21sth, 2024 to 11:59 a.m. December 6th, 2024

- Click on the link to https://wetransfer.com and upload your video file
- Copy the link provided to your battery recycling safety tips video
- Return to the Bonus Mission 1 page and paste the link to your video in the space provided on the form
- Complete all required information requested on the submission form
- Submit the form
Bonus Mission 2: Create a recycling character or recycling slogan!
Bonus Mission 2 active 12:00 p.m. December 6th, 2024 to 11:59 a.m. February 18th, 2025
- Create a recycling character (mascot) or a battery recycling slogan
- Take a picture of your character or slogan written down on a peice of paper
- Sign in
- Complete all required information requested on the submission form
- Attach the picture of your character or slogan to the submission form in the space provided.
- Submit the form
Bonus Mission 3: Tell us what you've learned by participating in the OSBRC
Bonus Mission 3 active 12:00 p.m. February 18th, 2025 to 11:59 a.m. April 22nd, 2025
- Choose to record a short video or to include a paragraph describing what you’ve learned by participating in the OSBRC
- Sign in
- If you chose to record a video, click on the link provided on the Bonus Mission 3 page to https://wetransfer.com and upload your video file
- Copy the link provided to your video
- Return to the Bonus Mission 3 page and paste the link to your video in the space provided on the form
- Complete all required information requested on the submission form
- If you chose instead to include a paragraph describing what you’ve learned, simply include your paragraph in the space provided on the form.

2: PRIZES
2.1 Awarding of Prizes: Every student that completes all of the entry requirements for a single Mission will receive a certificate acknowledging their participation. If a student completes three (3) of the five (5) Primary Missions before December 6th, 2024 at 11:59 a.m. EST, their name will also be entered into the first random draw for one (1) of five (5) $50 Visa gift cards. If a student completes all five (5) Primary Missions before December 6th, 2024 at 11:59 a.m. EST, their name will be entered into the first random draw twice (2 times). A student’s name will be removed from any subsequent Visa gift card draw if they win.
A student that does not complete three Primary Missions before December 6th, 2024 at 11:59 a.m. will not have their name entered into the first random draw. However, if the same student manages to complete all five (5) Primary Missions before the end of the second part of the Mission period (from December 6th, 2024 until April 22nd, 2025), they will have their name entered once (1 time) into the second random draw for a chance to win one (1) of five (5) Visa gift cards. Only students that have completed all five (5) Primary Missions at the end of the Mission period and have not already won a prize, will be entered once (1 time) in the second draw for a chance to win one (1) of five (5) $50 Visa gift cards. Primary Missions do not have to be completed in any particular order.
In addition, if a student completes all five (5) Primary Missions before February 18th, 2025 at 11:59 a.m. EST, they will have their name entered once (1 time) into a special draw for a chance to win one (1) family voucher for Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara Falls ON. Voucher includes complimentary one (1) night stay in a Wolf Den suite for a family of four (4) and one (1) complimentary breakfast for four (4) at the Antler Shanty Buffett. Voucher is subject to availability at the time of booking and valid Sunday-Friday, excluding July, August, all holidays and school break periods. Voucher is subject to blackout dates. In the event the winning student is not able to accept the voucher, another name will be drawn.
Each Bonus Mission is time-limited and tied to the next prize draw. A student that completes all five (5) Primary Missions will be invited by email to participate in a Bonus Mission for the next draw. Each Bonus Mission a student completes will give them an additional entry into the next prize draw.

- Special Draw #1: February 18th, 2025 (1 voucher for Great Wolf Lodge, Niagara Falls ON)
- Random Draw #2: April 22nd, 2025 (5 individual $50 gift card winners)
2.2 Prizes: There are eleven (11) prizes available to be won, ten (10) prizes consisting of a $50 Visa gift card and one (1) prizes for a voucher to Great Wolf Lodge, Niagara Falls ON. Each winner in Random Draws #1 and #2 will receive a $50 Visa gift card. The winner of the special draw will receive a voucher for Great Wolf Lodge, Niagara Falls, ON.
2.3 Odds of Winning: The odds of winning will depend on the total number registrants eligible to participate in each random draw.
2.4 Determining Prize Winners & Notification:
Draw #1: On or about 12:00 p.m. EST on December 6th, 2024 in Port Colborne, Ontario, five (5) individuals will be selected by a random draw from all eligible entries received by 11:59 a.m. EST on December 6th, 2024.
Special Draw #1 (Great Wolf Lodge): On or about 12:00 p.m. EST on February 18th, 2025 in Port Colborne, Ontario, one (1) individual will be selected by a random draw from all eligible entries received by 11:59 a.m. EST on February 18th, 2025.
Draw #2: On or about 12:00 p.m. EST on April 22nd, 2025 in Port Colborne, Ontario, five (5) individuals will be selected by a random draw from all eligible entries received by 11:59 a.m. EST on April 22nd, 2025.
Winners will be determined randomly with the assistance of a 3rd party random picker (randompicker.com). A student can only win a maximum of two (2) prizes during a Challenge year.
Environmental 360 Solutions will attempt to contact each individual random prize draw winner within 14 days of each draw via the telephone number or email address provided on registration to notify him/her of his selection. The selected individual must respond within five (5) business days of notification. In order to be declared a winner, the individual must be in compliance with these rules and must: (i) correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited, mathematical skill-testing question; and (ii) have their parent or legal guardian confirm acceptance of the terms of the liability release that Environmental 360 Solutions will provide, by signing and returning it within ten (10) business days of its receipt. If the individual: (i) fails to respond within the time specified of his/her notification of selection; (ii) fails to correctly answer the skill testing question; (iii) fails to confirm acceptance of the terms of, and return to Environmental 360 Solutions, the signed liability release within the specified time, or fails to meet any of the other criteria set out herein to be declared a winner, then he/she will be disqualified, will forfeit the prize and, at Environmental 360 Solutions’ sole discretion, an alternate individual may be randomly selected until the selected individual meets all the qualifications outlined in these rules and can be declared a winner.
3: GENERAL PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS
3.1 Use of your child’s first name and the images submitted for Promotion: By registering for a Mission and completing the entry requirements, the student’s legal guardian authorizes Environmental 360 Solutions Ltd. to use their child’s first name and the images they submit for advertising and promotional purposes in any media without compensation or notice. Environmental 360 Solutions will only share a child’s first name in its promotional materials.
3.2 Communications From Environmental 360 Solutions via Email: As part of the entry requirements, you agree to allow Environmental 360 Solutions to send you electronic emails to carry out its duties as they relate to administering the contest.
3.3 General Terms: Acceptance: Entry in this Mission constitutes acceptance of these rules.
3.4 Applicable Laws: This Mission is subject to all applicable laws and regulations.
3.5 Prize: By entering the Mission, the individual covenants to accept the prize as described in these rules. No prize substitutions or transfer of prizes permitted except at the sole discretion of Environmental 360 Solutions. In no event shall Environmental 360 Solutions be required to award more prizes than the number of prizes indicated in these rules or to award a prize otherwise than in compliance with these rules. Environmental 360 Solutions or any entity affiliated with them will not be responsible for injuries or losses of any kind resulting from acceptance or use of the Prizes. Expenses not specified herein, including, without limitation are each winner’s sole responsibility.
3.6 Final Decision: Any decision by Environmental 360 Solutions regarding the Mission is final and without appeal. Individuals agree to comply with the eligibility criteria and the rules. By entering the Mission, individuals attest to having read and accepted these rules.
3.7 Modifications: Environmental 360 Solutions reserves the right at all times, in its sole discretion, and without prior notice, to: (i) to adjust any of the dates and/or timeframes stipulated in these rules, to the extent necessary, for purposes of verifying compliance by any individual with these rules, or as a result of any technical or other problems, or in light of any other circumstances which, in the opinion of Environmental 360 Solutions, in its sole and absolute discretion, affect the proper administration of the Mission as contemplated in these rules, or for any other reason; (ii) cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this Mission, in whole or in part, should human intervention or an event take place that could alter or affect the administration, security, impartiality or conduct of the Mission as provided in these rules.
3.8 Release and Indemnity: By entering the Mission, individuals waive any claims and demands against Environmental 360 Solutions, its directors, officers, employees, representatives, agents (the “Releasees”) and release, indemnify and hold harmless the Releasees from and against any injuries, losses, damages, claims, actions, or any liability of any kind resulting from their participation in the Mission or resulting from acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the prize. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, individuals release, indemnify and hold harmless the Releasees for any liability relating to the collection or storage of the batteries.
3.9 No Liability for Technical Issues: The Releasees are not liable for faulty computer components, software, mobile devices or communication lines, relating to the loss or absence of network communication or relating to any transmission that is faulty, incomplete, incomprehensible or erased by any computer or network that could limit the possibility or prevent entry the Mission. The Releasees will also not be liable for any damage or loss that could arise, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from downloading any web page or by transmitting any information relating to the participation in this Mission.
3.10 Severability: If a section of these rules is declared illegal, unenforceable or invalid by a competent court, that section shall be considered invalid, but all unaffected sections will be applied within the limits of the law.
